History of the Espresso Martini
It’s the 1980s; An unnamed famous supermodel walks into a bar and makes the following demand. She says “I want a drink that will wake me up and F@#K me up!” Bartender and British mixologist Dick Bradsell makes the cocktail that he eventually christens “The Espresso Martini”
We might never know which supermodel it was that walked into the bar that fateful day at the Soho Brasserie (urban legend says it was Kate Moss) but what we do know is that the original name, The Vodka Espresso or Espresso Vodka, doesn’t roll off the tongue as nicely as The Espresso Martini!
