Why is the cocktail called The Godfather?
The Godfather cocktail is said to have been named after the famous 1972 film of the same name, starring Marlon Brando as the mafia boss, Vito Corleone. The drink is said to reflect the strong, smooth, and classic qualities of the character, and is typically made with equal parts of scotch and amaretto liqueur. It is sometimes referred to as the godmother cocktail.
