The old-fashioned is a sweet, whiskey-based cocktail made with sugar and bitters, and garnishing with an orange slice or zest and, occasionally, a cocktail cherry.

Ingredients

  • 2 Ounces Bourbon Whiskey

  • 1 Teaspoon Water

  • 3 Dashes Angostura bitters

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sugar

Directions

  • Add the sugar and bitters to a rock’s glass, If using a sugar cube, make sure to muddle the cube.
    Add the water, and stir until the sugar is nearly dissolved.
  • Fill the glass with large ice cubes, add the bourbon, and gently stir to combine.
  • Express the oil of an orange peel over the glass, then drop in.
