Ingredients

  1. .50 oz Grey Goose vodka
  2. .50 oz Cointreau
  3. 3 oz Champagne
  4. 1 oz Pineapple juice
  5. 2 Fresh pineapple wedges
  6. Bordeaux cherry, for garnish

Directions

In the bottom of a mixing glass, muddle the pineapple piece and the Cointreau. Add the vodka, Pineapple juice, and ice and stir. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass and top slowly with the Champagne. Garnish with the cherry.

The Honeymoon Cocktail is simply an apple brandy sour, boozy and seductive, yet with a refreshing acidity. This famous cocktail was first published in Hugo Ensslin’s 1916 Recipes for Mixed Drinks, which Meehan describes as “one of the last great cocktail books (self) published before Prohibition.

Ingredients

  1. 1.50 oz Lairds straight apple brandy (bonded)
  2. .50 oz benedicitine
  3. 1 splash pierre Ferrand dry curcao
  4. .50 oz fresh lemon juice
  5. lemon zest coin for garnish

Directions

Shake all the ingredients (except the garnish) well with the ice and strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass. Garnish with the lemon zest coin.

3. Latin Love

Ingredients

  1. 1 oz cruzan coconut rum
  2. 1 oz cruzan banana rum
  3. 3 oz pineapple juice

  5. 1 oz raspberry syrup
  6. 1 oz heavy cream
  7. grenadine, home or store brought for the glass
  8. shredded coconut for frosting the glass

Directions

Wet a hurricane glass with grenadine and dip it in shredded coconut. Combine all the remaining ingredients in a blender and add a scoop of ice. Blend to a smooth consistency. Pour the mixture into the hurricane glass.

4. Flame of Love

This drink was created at Chasen’s, a famed Hollywood restaurant that debuted in 1936 and was a favorite of movie stars and aristocracy until it closed in 1995. The original Chasen’s star-studded clientele enjoyed beverages concocted by famed bartender Pepe Ruiz during its peak.

The Flame of Love is his most renowned invention, partially because it was initially designed for Dean Martin. Dean dragged his old chum Frank Sinatra to Chasen’s to test the drink, adding to the mythology of the cocktail. According to legend, Frank was so pleased that he ordered one for everyone in the establishment.

Ingredients

  1. 2.50 oz Finlandia Vodka
  2. .25 oz La Ina Fino Sherry
  3. 2 Flame orange zest coin for granish

Directions

Coat the inside of a chilled cocktail glass with the sherry and toss the remainder into a cocktail shaker. Flame 1 of the orange zest coins into the cocktail glass and discard. Add the vodka with ice to the cocktail shaker. Strain into the seasoned cocktail glass. Flame the second orange zest coin and drop it into the drink.

5. Old Flame (AKA Fancy Nancy)

The Old Flame cocktail, as the name suggests, has a nostalgic feel about it. Dale DeGroff nearly developed it by accident: he’d picked Negronis to offer with dinner, and the folks he presented it to didn’t enjoy the bitters-based taste. The Old Flame was conceived when he requested the bartender to add orange juice and Cointreau.

  1. 1 oz Bombay dry gin
  2. .50 oz Campari
  3. .50 oz Martini and Rossi sweet vermouth:

  5. .50 oz Cointreau

Stir all the ingredients (except for the garnish) with ice and strain into a chilled Nick and Nora glass. Garnish with the orange zest coin.

Directions

Cut a notch into a lime wedge, then run the lime around the rim of two glasses. Dip the edge of each rim into a plate of salt or sugar. Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until fully combined: you can blend until it’s an icy texture, or keep blending for a minute or so until it’s more liquid. Taste and add additional sweetener if desired. Pour into the glasses and serve.
