The Glogg or the Swedish Glogg is the perfect hot holiday drink.
History of the Glogg
In 1946, Kenneth Hansen began a club in Los Angeles called the Vikings of Scandia, which later became the restaurant Scandia. Members included stars like Rita Hayworth, Cornel Wilde, Marilyn Monroe, Gary Cooper, and Marlene Dietrich. Scandia’s Glogg, a traditional holiday drink, was a favorite. Dale Degroff then picked up the custom and gave it away at the bar of the Rainbow Room in small tastes during the two weeks around Christmas.
