The sidecar’s actual origins are unknown, however, it is considered to have been invented towards the close of World War I, in either London or Paris. The drink was named after a motorcycle attachment that was widely used at the time. The Ritz Hotel in Paris claims to be the originator of the drink.

  • 1.50 Ounces Cognac

  • 1 Ounces Cointreau

  • .75 Ounces Lemon Juice

  • Lemon Wedge for Frosting Glass

Directions

  • Frost a cocktail coupe glass with the lemon and sugar.
  • Shake the remaining ingredients (except the garnish) with Ice and strain into the prepared glass.
  • Garnish with the flamed orange zest coin.
