Why is it called the Singapore Sling?

The Singapore Sling is believed to have been created in the early 20th century at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore by bartender Ngiam Tong Boon. The cocktail’s name is a reference to its origin in Singapore and “sling,” a type of cocktail typically made with gin.

Ingredients

• 1.50 Ounces Fords Gin

• .50 Ounces Herring Cherry Liqueur

• .25 Ounces Benedictine

• .25 Ounces Cointreau

• 2 Ounces Pineapple Juice

• .50 Ounces Lime Juice

• 1 Dash of Angostura Bitters

• 2 Ounces Club Soda

• Orange Slice for Garnish

• Bordeaux Cherry for Garnish

Directions

• Shake all of the ingredients (except the club soda and garnishes) with ice and strain into a highball glass.
• Top with the soda. Garnish with the orange slice and cherry.
